Any ideas on how you are going to feel and look healthier in the new year? I have some tips and suggestions to get you on track RIGHT NOW so that when January 1st hits you aren't in panic mode!
  • Plan Ahead! Yes, Don't wait until the New Year, start now! Start thinking about what your goals are, what you need help with, and small things that will make BIG differences in the end. This could mean increasing your water uptake to at least 8 glasses of water per day.. Carrying a water bottle with you at all times will ensure this happens, and is only a small change to your everyday lifestyle!
  • During the craziness of the holidays.. Yes, I believe its already hit.. please don't forget to eat! Don't skip meals! This leads to overeating and eating whatever is in sight! Carry snacks and water with you at all times. Snacks stuffed into your purse could be raw nuts and seeds with healthy fats ( almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, brazil nuts, etc.), fruit (clementines are a great snack this time of year and loaded with Vitamin C and Bioflavonoids!), dried fruit, granola, and naturally sweetened granola bars.
  • What do you LOVE to do that gets your heart rate pumping and works up a sweat? Pick activities that you enjoy so that its not work. This could be skiing, snowboarding, skating, snowshoeing, jogging, sledding, tobogganing, or swimming. Depending on where you live maybe all of these activities aren't available to you but pick one or two that are and plan to do them! Ask a friend to join you that you will enjoy being around and can hold you accountable.
  • Think of the changes you are planning for yourself as lifestyle changes. These are changes that you want to stick with, it is not a "diet", "fad", or "trend". These are changes you are making to maybe have more energy, lose weight, or feel more confident and proud of yourself. This all takes time and there's no short cut for success unfortunately. If you choose lifestyle changes and stick to them consistently your efforts are sure to make their appearance and last!

I hope you found some of these tips helpful. I am really excited to share all of the exciting events happening by Fresh Senses in January to help with anyone's healthy New Years resolutions!
